FAQs
- How does this differ from Monopoly?
- Compared to Monopoly, our game contains an innovative second level, giving players new utilities and influential properties to purchase that build upon the locations in the first level.
- The lights on each side on the first level of the board will bring a new aesthetic, showing ownership in a bright fashion and warning other players how much progress one is making.
- The "Slice of Life" and "Roll of Success" cards will allow for more player input and added intensity for chance-based event.
- You can "takeover" other players' properties by paying double the original cost to the owner.
- How do you get to the second level?
- After owning all locations on your starting side, you can gain access to the second level after passing your assigned "GO".
- What are the benefit(s) and consequence(s) of going to the second level?
- The first benefit of going to the second level is the chance of being able to purchase properties that will affect their properties' value on the second level. Each of the properties will increase the amount of money that the owning player gets from others landing on that property.
- There are more opportunities for the player to land on "Roll for Success" and "Slice of Life".
- However, just as there are more opportunities for good fortune, there is an increased chance that the player may encounter misfortune from "Paying Taxes", "Business Meeting", and "Go to Jail".
- In addition, the player does not collect money from passing "GO" on the second tier.
- Where do you start?
- All sides of the board are color coordinated. The color of the player pieces coincide with where you should start and what properties you need to buy in order to go to the second tier.
- Why are the prices so high?
- The prices are supposed to reflect real life. Although we took some liberties, as we wanted the scaling of the prices to be equal on each side, we had the storefronts and other locations cost thousands of dollars. We also had to make sure the prices would line up with the amount of game currency we had.
- What if you don't have 4 people to play with?
- Unfortunately, our game cannot be played with more than 5 five, but you may play with few than 4.
- If there are 3 players, each player chooses a side of the board to begin. The remaining side is neutral territory that anyone may buy.
- If there are 2 players, each player chooses a side of the board to begin. Their territory will be the side they begin and the next adjacent side they will cross when going around the board.
